Maison Philosophy

At Leocé, we believe that true luxury is not defined by excess, but by intention. Every garment, every stitch, and every detail is the result of thoughtful craftsmanship, refined design, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Founded on the principles of timeless elegance and artisanal craftsmanship, Leocé is a South African couture maison dedicated to creating exceptional garments for women who appreciate individuality, quality and enduring style. Each creation is approached as a collaboration between our atelier and our client, where creativity, precision and trust come together to produce garments that are as personal as they are beautiful.

Our philosophy extends beyond fashion. We believe that couture is an experience—one built upon open communication, meticulous attention to detail, mutual respect and a shared appreciation for craftsmanship. Whether creating a bespoke bridal gown, an evening couture piece, a ready-to-wear design or a carefully curated home collection, every Leocé creation is crafted with the same dedication to excellence.

As an atelier specialising in handcrafted luxury, many of our garments require hundreds of hours of skilled workmanship. Natural fabrics, hand-finished techniques, couture construction and carefully selected materials ensure that every piece possesses its own unique character. These subtle variations are not imperfections; they are the hallmark of genuine craftsmanship and the individuality that defines true couture.

The relationship between Leocé and each client is founded on transparency and trust. These Terms & Conditions, Client Policies & Website Use Agreement have been carefully prepared to provide clarity throughout every stage of the client journey, from the initial consultation and design process to production, fittings, delivery and aftercare. They are intended to protect both our clients and our maison while ensuring a seamless and professional experience.

By engaging with Leocé, visiting our website, requesting quotations, commissioning a bespoke garment, purchasing from our ready-to-wear collections or home collection, or placing an order through any of our sales channels, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms and policies contained within this Agreement.

We thank you for placing your trust in Leocé and look forward to creating something truly extraordinary together.

4. Products & Services

Leocé offers a carefully curated range of luxury products and services, including but not limited to:

  • Bespoke evening wear and occasion wear.
  • Made-to-order couture garments.
  • Ready-to-wear collections.

Due to the handcrafted nature of many of our products, every garment is individually produced with exceptional attention to detail. Minor variations in hand-finishing, embroidery, lace placement, beadwork, natural fabrics and couture construction are considered characteristics of authentic handcrafted luxury and shall not be regarded as defects.

Leocé continually develops new collections and may introduce, discontinue or modify products, services, pricing, fabrics or design offerings without prior notice.

All products remain subject to availability, production capacity and the availability of suitable fabrics and materials from our suppliers. Where a selected fabric or component becomes unavailable, Leocé reserves the right to recommend an equivalent luxury alternative after consultation with the client.

Leocé does not reproduce or manufacture exact copies of garments designed by other designers or fashion houses. While inspiration images may be supplied by clients, every Leocé garment is interpreted and developed through the creative direction, craftsmanship and original design philosophy of the maison.

Part II – Product Information

5. Product Information

Every Leocé creation is designed and produced with meticulous attention to detail, exceptional craftsmanship and a commitment to timeless luxury. As a couture maison, our garments and products are handcrafted using carefully selected materials, specialist techniques and, wherever possible, premium natural fibres sourced from trusted local and international suppliers.

Due to the artisanal nature of our work, each Leocé creation is unique. No two handcrafted garments or products will ever be completely identical, and slight variations should be expected as part of the authentic couture experience.

Product descriptions, photographs, sketches, illustrations, fabric swatches and marketing material are intended to provide an accurate representation of each design. However, these materials are provided for illustrative purposes only and should not be interpreted as an exact representation of the final product.

Where applicable, bespoke garments are created in collaboration with the client and are subject to the approved design, selected fabrics, available materials and agreed specifications.

Leocé reserves the right to make reasonable technical or construction adjustments where necessary to improve the quality, durability, fit or structural integrity of a garment, provided such adjustments do not materially alter the overall design approved by the client.

6. Product Availability

All Leocé products and services are offered subject to availability, production capacity and the availability of suitable materials.

Bespoke and made-to-order garments are individually produced following confirmation of an order and payment of the required deposit. Production schedules are carefully planned to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.

Ready-to-wear garments, home collection products and accessories remain subject to stock availability and may be discontinued, replaced or updated without prior notice.

Should an item become unavailable after an order has been confirmed due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Leocé, including supplier shortages or discontinued materials, Leocé will notify the client as soon as reasonably possible.

Where practical, Leocé may offer one or more of the following options:

  • a comparable luxury alternative;
  • a revised production timeframe;
  • a replacement product of equivalent value; or
  • a refund in accordance with these Terms & Conditions and applicable South African law.

Leocé reserves the right to limit quantities, discontinue products or decline orders where necessary to maintain production quality, protect the exclusivity of our collections or manage manufacturing capacity.

7. Fabric Availability

Leocé is committed to sourcing exceptional fabrics from reputable local and international suppliers. Many of the fabrics used within our collections are exclusive, imported, limited in production or available only for a restricted period.

While every reasonable effort will be made to source the exact fabrics selected during the design process, Leocé cannot guarantee the continued availability of any specific fabric, lace, embroidery, beadwork, trim or other material.

Should a selected material become unavailable before production commences, Leocé will consult with the client and recommend the closest suitable luxury alternative while preserving the original design intent wherever reasonably possible.

Natural fibres and luxury textiles may display subtle differences in weave, texture, colour, weight or finish between production batches. These natural variations are recognised characteristics of premium fabrics and shall not be regarded as defects.

Leocé reserves the right to substitute internal construction materials, linings, interlinings or supporting components with equivalent or superior quality materials where necessary to maintain the integrity and craftsmanship of the finished garment.

No refunds, cancellations or claims shall arise solely because a comparable luxury fabric or material has been substituted following consultation with the client due to supplier discontinuation or circumstances beyond Leocé’s reasonable control.

8. Colours & Product Representation

Leocé makes every reasonable effort to ensure that product photography, digital images, illustrations and fabric representations accurately reflect the appearance of each product.

However, actual colours may vary due to differences in computer monitors, mobile devices, tablets, printing processes, lighting conditions, photography, screen calibration and individual display settings.

Clients acknowledge that colour perception differs between devices and that minor colour variations between digital representations, fabric swatches and finished garments are normal and unavoidable.

For bespoke commissions, every reasonable effort will be made to source fabrics that closely match the colours approved during the consultation process. Slight variations resulting from dye lots, fabric mills or supplier production are recognised characteristics of the textile industry and do not constitute manufacturing defects.

Where colour matching is critical, Leocé strongly recommends that clients review physical fabric samples before providing final approval whenever reasonably possible.

9. Handcrafted Variations

Every Leocé garment is individually handcrafted by skilled artisans using couture techniques that celebrate craftsmanship rather than mass production.

As a result, each creation possesses its own unique character and individuality. Slight variations may naturally occur in:

  • embroidery placement;
  • beadwork;
  • lace motifs;
  • appliqué placement;
  • hand-finishing;
  • draping;
  • pleating;
  • fabric texture;
  • natural fibres;
  • pattern placement; and
  • other handcrafted details.

These characteristics are not faults, manufacturing defects or imperfections. Rather, they are inherent qualities of authentic handcrafted couture and distinguish each Leocé creation as a unique work of craftsmanship.

Clients acknowledge that handcrafted luxury garments are intentionally different from factory-produced clothing and that these subtle variations contribute to the exclusivity, artistry and individuality of each piece.

Leocé does not guarantee absolute uniformity between garments, fabric batches or handcrafted embellishments, and such variations shall not constitute grounds for cancellation, return or refund where the garment otherwise conforms substantially to the approved design and agreed specifications.

Part III – Bespoke & Bridal Couture

10. Bespoke Couture Policy

Bespoke couture is the foundation of Leocé and represents the highest level of craftsmanship offered by the maison. Every bespoke garment is individually designed, patterned, constructed and handcrafted specifically for a single client using their unique measurements, approved design specifications and selected materials.

Unlike ready-to-wear garments, bespoke couture is a collaborative creative journey between the client and Leocé. Every commission is approached individually, allowing our atelier to create garments that reflect the client’s vision while remaining true to the creative philosophy, craftsmanship and technical expertise of the maison.

No two bespoke garments will ever be identical. Every Leocé couture creation is individually handcrafted and carries the unique characteristics that distinguish authentic couture from mass-produced fashion.

10.1 Consultations

Every bespoke commission begins with a consultation, conducted either in person or virtually.

During the consultation process, Leocé will discuss, where applicable:

  • the client’s vision and occasion;
  • design direction;
  • silhouette and style;
  • preferred fabrics and materials;
  • colour palette;
  • embellishments;
  • construction techniques;
  • estimated production timelines;
  • fitting requirements;
  • pricing; and
  • any additional services requested by the client.

Consultations are intended to establish a clear understanding of the client’s requirements and to determine whether the requested design is suitable for production within Leocé’s standards of craftsmanship.

10.2 Creative Interpretation & Original Design

Leocé welcomes inspiration images, sketches, photographs, mood boards and design references supplied by clients for the purpose of communicating their preferred aesthetic.

Such reference material is used solely as creative inspiration.

Leocé does not reproduce, manufacture or intentionally replicate garments created by other designers, fashion houses or brands.

Every bespoke garment remains an original Leocé creation, developed through the maison’s own creative process, pattern development, construction methods and artistic direction.

Where inspiration is drawn from reference material, Leocé reserves the right to reinterpret proportions, silhouettes, embellishments, fabrics, finishes and construction techniques in order to preserve originality, improve fit, maintain structural integrity and achieve the highest standard of couture craftsmanship.

Clients acknowledge that the final garment may differ from inspiration images supplied and agree that such differences shall not constitute manufacturing defects or grounds for cancellation, return or refund, provided that the final garment substantially reflects the approved design concept.

10.3 Artistic Discretion

Throughout the couture process, Leocé reserves the right to exercise reasonable artistic and technical discretion where necessary to achieve the highest standards of craftsmanship, fit, balance and garment construction.

This may include adjustments to:

  • internal garment structure;
  • pattern construction;
  • seam placement;
  • support techniques;
  • draping;
  • embellishment placement;
  • lace placement;
  • bead placement;
  • internal finishes; and
  • other technical elements that do not materially alter the approved design.

Such refinements form part of the couture process and shall not be regarded as unauthorised design changes.

10.4 Design Approval

Before production begins, the client will be presented with the proposed design, which may include sketches, digital renderings, fabric selections, trims, embellishments or other design specifications.

Production will only commence once:

  • the quotation has been accepted;
  • the required deposit has been received;
  • the design has been approved;
  • the client agreement has been signed; and
  • Leocé has confirmed the commencement of production.

Once production has commenced, substantial design changes may no longer be possible.

Where design changes remain possible, they may result in:

  • additional design fees;
  • additional fabric costs;
  • replacement of materials;
  • revised production timelines; and
  • additional fitting appointments.

Leocé reserves the right to decline design amendments that may compromise the quality, construction or completion of the garment.

10.5 Client Responsibilities

To ensure a successful couture experience, clients agree to:

  • provide accurate information throughout the design process;
  • attend scheduled consultations and fittings;
  • respond to requests for approval within a reasonable time;
  • communicate any concerns promptly;
  • provide accurate measurements where requested;
  • inform Leocé of any significant body changes during production;
  • make payments in accordance with agreed payment schedules; and
  • cooperate throughout the couture process.

Failure to do so may result in production delays, additional costs or revised completion dates.

10.6 Couture Craftsmanship

Every Leocé couture garment is individually handcrafted by skilled artisans using traditional couture techniques.

As a result, slight variations may naturally occur in:

  • embroidery;
  • beadwork;
  • lace placement;
  • hand-finishing;
  • draping;
  • natural fabric characteristics;
  • pattern placement; and
  • other handcrafted details.

These variations are an inherent characteristic of genuine couture craftsmanship and shall not be regarded as faults, defects or manufacturing errors.

10.7 Production Commencement

Production of a bespoke garment will not commence until:

  • the quotation has been accepted in writing;
  • the Client Agreement has been signed;
  • the required deposit has been received in cleared funds;
  • all required measurements have been obtained; and
  • the necessary fabrics and materials have been confirmed.

Estimated production timelines commence only once all of the above requirements have been satisfied.

10.8 Exclusivity of Bespoke Garments

Every bespoke Leocé garment is created specifically for the commissioning client.

Leocé reserves the right to incorporate elements of its own original design language into future collections. However, Leocé will not intentionally reproduce a bespoke garment in its entirety for another client without appropriate modification, unless otherwise agreed in writing with the original client.

Likewise, clients acknowledge that the creative concepts, construction methods, patterns, technical drawings and original design development remain the intellectual property of Leocé.

10.9 Right to Decline a Commission

Leocé reserves the right to decline any bespoke commission where, in its professional opinion:

  • the requested design conflicts with the creative philosophy of the maison;
  • the requested garment constitutes an infringement of another designer’s intellectual property;
  • the requested production timeline is not achievable;
  • suitable fabrics or materials cannot be sourced;
  • the requested construction would compromise quality or safety; or
  • the client is unwilling to comply with these Terms & Conditions or the Client Agreement.

Such decisions are made to protect the integrity, quality and reputation of the Leocé maison.

11. Bridal Couture Policy

A Leocé bridal gown is far more than a garment; it is the culmination of months of careful planning, meticulous craftsmanship and close collaboration between the bride and our atelier. Every bridal commission is individually designed and handcrafted to celebrate one of life’s most meaningful occasions.

To ensure that every bride receives the highest level of service and craftsmanship, the following Bridal Couture Policy forms part of this Agreement and should be read together with the Bespoke Couture Policy and the Leocé Client Agreement.

11.1 Booking Your Bridal Commission

Bridal commissions are accepted strictly subject to the availability of the Leocé atelier.

As each bridal gown is individually handcrafted and requires significant time and attention, Leocé accepts only a limited number of bridal commissions throughout the year.

Early booking is strongly recommended.

Where possible, brides are encouraged to begin their bridal journey approximately 8 to 12 months before their wedding date to allow sufficient time for consultations, sourcing of fabrics, production and fittings. While Leocé may, at its sole discretion, accept shorter timelines, this cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to a rush order fee.

11.2 Wedding Date

The client is responsible for providing Leocé with the correct wedding date and any other important event dates relevant to the production schedule.

Should the wedding date change after production has commenced, the client must notify Leocé immediately.

While every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate revised dates, Leocé cannot guarantee availability outside the original production schedule, and additional costs or revised completion dates may apply.

Leocé shall not be responsible for delays arising from late notification of revised wedding dates.

11.3 Bridal Consultations

Every bridal commission begins with an initial design consultation.

Depending on the complexity of the gown, additional consultations may be scheduled to discuss:

  • design development;
  • silhouette;
  • fabrics;
  • lace selection;
  • embellishments;
  • accessories;
  • veils;
  • construction details;
  • production progress; and
  • final styling.

Consultations form an essential part of the couture process, and the bride’s active participation is encouraged throughout.

11.4 Bridal Fittings

Leocé recommends a minimum of six (6) fittings for every bespoke bridal gown.

The number of fittings may increase depending on the complexity of the design, body changes, travel arrangements or additional design requirements.

Attending scheduled fittings is essential to achieving the desired fit and finish.

Failure to attend fittings or repeated rescheduling may result in production delays, additional fitting appointments and additional costs where applicable.

Where a bride resides outside Cape Town or outside South Africa, alternative fitting arrangements may be agreed upon in writing.

11.5 Measurements

Accurate measurements are essential for the successful construction of a bridal gown.

Clients agree to:

  • provide accurate measurements where required;
  • attend scheduled measuring appointments;
  • notify Leocé of any significant body changes;
  • inform Leocé of pregnancy, surgery or medical conditions that may affect fit.

Where measurements are supplied by a third party, Leocé cannot accept responsibility for inaccuracies arising from those measurements.

Additional alterations resulting from incorrect or outdated measurements may incur further charges.

11.6 Weight and Body Changes

The fit of a couture bridal gown is based upon the measurements obtained during the design and production process.

Should the bride experience significant weight loss, weight gain, pregnancy, surgery, medical treatment or other body changes after measurements have been taken, additional fittings and alterations may become necessary.

Any additional work required as a result of such changes may incur additional costs and may affect production timelines.

11.7 Design Amendments

Bridal gowns evolve through an approved design process.

Clients are encouraged to finalise design decisions before production begins.

Once fabrics have been ordered or cut, substantial design changes may no longer be possible.

Where design amendments remain possible, they may result in:

  • additional labour charges;
  • additional fabric costs;
  • replacement of trims or embellishments;
  • revised production schedules; and
  • further fitting appointments.

Leocé reserves the right to decline requested amendments that may compromise the structural integrity, quality or timely completion of the gown.

11.8 Bridal Party Garments

Where Leocé is commissioned to produce bridesmaids’ dresses, mother-of-the-bride garments or other bridal party attire, each garment shall be treated as an individual commission.

The timely attendance of all members of the bridal party at consultations and fittings remains the responsibility of the client.

Leocé shall not be responsible for delays arising from unavailable bridal party members or delayed measurements.

11.9 Wedding-Day Dressing Service

Should the client require a Leocé representative to attend the wedding for dressing assistance, steaming or final garment preparation, this service must be requested and confirmed in writing well in advance of the wedding date.

Attendance is subject to availability and may incur additional fees, travel costs, accommodation expenses and other related charges.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, wedding-day dressing services are not included in the purchase price of the gown.

11.10 Collection of the Bridal Gown

The completed gown shall be collected on the agreed collection date unless alternative arrangements have been confirmed in writing.

Upon collection, the bride or her authorised representative will be afforded the opportunity to inspect the gown.

By accepting collection, the client confirms that:

  • the gown has been inspected;
  • the fit has been approved;
  • the design has been approved;
  • visible workmanship has been accepted;
  • visible embellishments have been accepted; and
  • the gown is accepted in its completed condition, subject always to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African consumer legislation.

Any concerns should be raised before the gown leaves the Leocé atelier.

11.11 Garment Transportation

Once a bridal gown has been collected or handed to an appointed courier, transporter or third-party representative nominated by the client, the responsibility for the care, transportation and storage of the gown passes to the client or their appointed representative.

Leocé recommends transporting all couture garments in the protective garment bag provided and handling them with appropriate care at all times.

11.12 Storage Before the Wedding

Bridal gowns should be stored in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, moisture, excessive humidity and pets.

Clients are encouraged to avoid unnecessary handling of the gown after collection to preserve its condition before the wedding day.

11.13 After the Wedding

Following the wedding, Leocé recommends that the gown be professionally cleaned by a specialist experienced in couture bridal garments as soon as reasonably possible.

Leocé cannot accept responsibility for staining, environmental damage, accidental damage, improper cleaning methods or deterioration occurring after collection.

11.14 International Brides

Leocé proudly works with brides around the world.

Where a bride is unable to attend all fittings in person, consultations may be conducted virtually and measurements may be supplied by a qualified third party.

While every reasonable effort will be made to achieve the highest standard of fit, Leocé cannot guarantee identical results where measurements, fittings or alterations are performed outside the atelier.

Any additional alterations required after delivery as a result of third-party measurements or fittings shall remain the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed in writing.

12. The Couture Journey

Every Leocé couture creation follows a carefully considered process designed to ensure exceptional craftsmanship, clear communication and an enjoyable client experience. While every commission is unique, the journey generally follows the stages outlined below.

Stage One — Initial Enquiry

Your journey begins with an enquiry through our website, email, telephone or by visiting the Leocé atelier.

During this stage we gain an understanding of your event, preferred timelines, design aspirations and any initial ideas you wish to explore.

Stage Two — Consultation & Design

A personal consultation is arranged to discuss your vision in greater detail.

This may include:

  • design inspiration;
  • silhouettes;
  • fabrics;
  • colours;
  • embellishments;
  • functionality;
  • styling;
  • accessories;
  • event requirements; and
  • budget considerations.

Where appropriate, Leocé may prepare sketches, design concepts or fabric recommendations to assist in developing your bespoke garment.

Stage Three — Quotation & Client Approval

Following the consultation, Leocé will prepare a detailed quotation outlining the proposed garment, estimated pricing and anticipated production schedule.

Quotations remain valid for ten (10) business days unless otherwise stated.

Production will only commence once:

  • the quotation has been accepted;
  • the Client Agreement has been signed;
  • these Terms & Conditions have been accepted; and
  • the required deposit has been received.

Stage Four — Fabric & Design Confirmation

Once the commission has been confirmed, final design specifications, fabrics, trims and embellishments are approved.

Following this stage, production planning begins.

Significant changes after approval may result in additional costs and revised production timelines.

Stage Five — Couture Production

Your garment enters the Leocé atelier where it is individually handcrafted using couture techniques.

Depending on the complexity of the design, production may include:

  • pattern development;
  • draping;
  • garment construction;
  • hand-finishing;
  • embroidery;
  • beadwork;
  • lace application;
  • internal structure; and
  • multiple quality inspections.

Production timelines vary according to the complexity of each individual commission.

Stage Six — Fittings

A series of fitting appointments ensures that your garment is refined throughout the production process.

Each fitting allows the Leocé atelier to evaluate fit, comfort, balance and proportion while making any necessary refinements before completion.

Bridal couture commissions generally require a minimum of six (6) fittings, although additional fittings may be necessary depending on the design and individual requirements.

Stage Seven — Final Approval

Once your garment has been completed, a final fitting or inspection is conducted.

This provides an opportunity to confirm:

  • fit;
  • design;
  • workmanship;
  • embellishments;
  • comfort; and
  • overall presentation.

Any agreed minor refinements will be completed before collection where reasonably possible.

Stage Eight — Collection or Delivery

Upon receipt of the outstanding balance, your completed garment may be collected from the Leocé atelier or prepared for shipment.

At collection, clients are encouraged to carefully inspect their garment before leaving the atelier.

For international clients, garments are carefully packaged and prepared for insured courier delivery where applicable.

Stage Nine — Aftercare

Your relationship with Leocé does not end when your garment leaves our atelier.

We encourage clients to follow the recommended garment care instructions, store couture garments appropriately and contact Leocé should they require advice regarding cleaning, storage or future alterations.

Our commitment to craftsmanship extends beyond delivery, and we remain dedicated to preserving the beauty and longevity of every Leocé creation.

13. Design Approval

The design approval stage marks the formal transition from concept development to production. At this point, the client confirms that the proposed design accurately reflects their vision and authorises Leocé to commence the creation of the garment.

To ensure clarity and protect both the client and the maison, the following Design Approval Policy shall apply to all bespoke and bridal couture commissions.

13.1 Design Development

Throughout the consultation process, Leocé will work collaboratively with the client to develop a design that reflects the client’s vision while remaining consistent with the creative philosophy, craftsmanship and technical standards of the maison.

The design process may include:

  • design consultations;
  • hand-drawn sketches;
  • digital fashion illustrations;
  • silhouette development;
  • fabric recommendations;
  • colour selection;
  • embellishment concepts;
  • lace placement;
  • beadwork concepts;
  • construction methods;
  • styling recommendations; and
  • accessory suggestions where applicable.

All sketches, illustrations, technical drawings and design concepts remain the intellectual property of Leocé unless otherwise agreed in writing.

13.2 Client Approval

Before production commences, the client will be afforded a reasonable opportunity to review the proposed design.

Approval may include, where applicable:

  • overall silhouette;
  • neckline;
  • sleeve design;
  • train length;
  • skirt shape;
  • fabric selections;
  • colour selection;
  • lace selection;
  • embellishment placement;
  • trims;
  • accessories;
  • finishing details; and
  • any additional design specifications agreed between the parties.

Once approved, the design shall be regarded as the agreed scope of work for the commission.

13.3 Approval of Sketches and Visual Representations

Sketches, illustrations, digital renderings and mood boards are artistic representations intended to communicate the overall design concept.

Clients acknowledge that these visual representations are not technical manufacturing drawings and that minor refinements may naturally occur during the couture production process in order to achieve the highest standard of craftsmanship, fit and structural integrity.

Such refinements shall not constitute unauthorised design changes.

13.4 Commencement of Production

Production will only commence once all of the following requirements have been satisfied:

  • the quotation has been accepted;
  • the Client Agreement has been signed;
  • these Terms & Conditions have been accepted;
  • the required deposit has been received in cleared funds;
  • the design has been approved; and
  • Leocé has confirmed that production may commence.

No work will begin prior to the fulfilment of these requirements unless otherwise agreed in writing.

13.5 Design Amendments Before Production

Clients may request amendments before production begins.

Where such amendments are reasonably possible, Leocé will advise the client of any additional:

  • design fees;
  • pattern development;
  • fabric requirements;
  • labour costs;
  • production time; or
  • revised completion dates.

Production shall only proceed once the amended design has been approved by both parties.

13.6 Design Amendments After Production Has Commenced

Once fabrics have been ordered, patterns have been developed, materials have been cut or garment construction has commenced, significant design changes may no longer be possible.

Where amendments remain reasonably achievable, they may result in:

  • additional design fees;
  • additional labour charges;
  • replacement fabrics;
  • replacement lace or embellishments;
  • revised fitting schedules;
  • revised production timelines; and
  • additional material costs.

Leocé reserves the right to decline any requested amendment that may compromise the quality, structural integrity, craftsmanship or timely completion of the garment.

13.7 Artistic and Technical Refinements

Clients acknowledge that couture garments evolve throughout the production process.

Leocé reserves the right to make reasonable artistic and technical refinements where necessary to improve:

  • fit;
  • balance;
  • proportion;
  • comfort;
  • structural support;
  • durability;
  • internal construction;
  • couture finishing; or
  • overall presentation.

Such refinements shall not be regarded as material alterations to the approved design and shall not require additional client approval unless they substantially change the agreed aesthetic of the garment.

13.8 Client Approval During Production

During production, Leocé may request additional approvals regarding fabrics, embellishments, trims or other design elements.

Clients agree to provide approvals within a reasonable period to avoid unnecessary delays to production.

Failure to provide requested approvals may result in revised production schedules and revised completion dates.

Leocé shall not be liable for delays arising from late client approvals.

13.9 Final Design Approval

Following the final fitting, the client shall have the opportunity to inspect the completed garment.

Any agreed minor refinements identified during the final fitting will be completed where reasonably possible before collection.

Upon final collection of the garment, the client acknowledges that the completed design has been accepted, subject always to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African consumer legislation.

13.10 Design Integrity

Leocé reserves the right to decline any request that, in the professional opinion of the maison, would compromise the artistic integrity, craftsmanship, structural performance or reputation of the Leocé brand.

Our commitment is to create garments that uphold the highest standards of couture excellence while remaining true to the creative identity of the maison.

13.11 Client Response & Approval Timeframes

The timely completion of a bespoke or bridal couture commission depends upon prompt communication and timely decision-making by the client.

Throughout the design and production process, Leocé may require the client’s approval regarding sketches, fabrics, lace selections, embellishments, trims, colours, design refinements or other production-related matters.

Clients agree to provide all requested approvals and responses within a reasonable period.

Where no response has been received within seven (7) Business Days of Leocé requesting approval, Leocé reserves the right to place the commission on temporary hold until the required approval or instruction has been received.

During any period in which production is placed on hold due to outstanding client approval, all production timelines, fitting schedules and estimated completion dates shall automatically be extended by a period equivalent to the delay.

Leocé shall not be liable for any delay in completion, delivery or collection arising directly or indirectly from the client’s failure to provide instructions, approvals or requested information within a reasonable time.

Where a prolonged delay materially affects production scheduling, fabric availability or atelier capacity, Leocé reserves the right to revise the production schedule and, where reasonably necessary, discuss alternative completion dates with the client.

Should a client remain unresponsive for an extended period exceeding thirty (30) consecutive Business Days, Leocé reserves the right to suspend the commission until communication has been re-established. Any additional costs arising from the suspension of production, re-scheduling of the commission, replacement of materials or changes in supplier pricing may be payable by the client.

Leocé will always make reasonable efforts to communicate with the client using the contact details provided before exercising any rights under this clause.

14. Fabric Approval

The selection and approval of fabrics is one of the most significant stages of the couture process. The quality, structure, drape, texture and performance of the selected materials directly influence the final appearance, fit and construction of every Leocé garment.

Leocé will guide the client through the fabric selection process and, where appropriate, recommend fabrics, linings, interlinings, trims, lace, embellishments and other materials that best complement the approved design.

14.1 Fabric Selection

Clients will be afforded the opportunity to review available fabric options, subject to supplier availability and production schedules.

Where practical, physical fabric samples will be presented for approval. Where this is not reasonably possible, high-quality photographs, videos or digital representations may be used, particularly for international clients.

Leocé will make every reasonable effort to accurately represent the appearance and characteristics of all materials. However, clients acknowledge that slight differences in colour, texture and finish may occur between samples, photographs and final production.

14.2 Fabric Approval

Before production commences, the client shall approve the principal fabrics and, where applicable:

  • lace;
  • embellishments;
  • beadwork;
  • trims;
  • linings;
  • colours;
  • appliqués; and
  • other decorative components.

Approval may be given in writing, electronically or through any other communication method accepted by Leocé.

14.3 Ordering of Materials

Once fabric approval has been received and the required deposit has been paid, Leocé may proceed with the procurement of materials.

Many couture fabrics are imported, produced in limited quantities or specially ordered for individual commissions.

Accordingly, once fabrics or other materials have been ordered specifically for a client’s commission, they cannot ordinarily be cancelled or returned to the supplier.

14.4 Changes After Fabric Approval

Following fabric approval and procurement, requests to change fabrics, colours, lace or embellishments may not be possible.

Where such changes remain reasonably achievable, they may result in:

  • additional fabric costs;
  • supplier cancellation charges;
  • replacement material costs;
  • additional labour;
  • revised production timelines; and
  • revised fitting schedules.

Leocé reserves the right to decline any requested changes where implementation would compromise production quality or completion deadlines.

14.5 Material Availability

Should an approved material become unavailable due to supplier shortages, discontinued production, import delays or circumstances beyond Leocé’s reasonable control, Leocé shall consult with the client regarding an appropriate luxury alternative.

Every reasonable effort will be made to preserve the original design intent while maintaining the highest standard of craftsmanship.

15. Measurements

The success of every bespoke garment depends upon accurate measurements.

Leocé places significant importance on the measuring process and requires every client to provide complete and accurate information throughout production.

15.1 Initial Measurements

Measurements may be taken by Leocé during an in-person consultation or supplied by the client where agreed.

Where measurements are supplied by the client or a third party, the client accepts responsibility for their accuracy.

Leocé cannot accept responsibility for fit issues resulting from inaccurate, incomplete or outdated measurements supplied by persons outside the atelier.

15.2 Changes in Body Measurements

Clients acknowledge that body measurements may naturally change throughout the production process.

Clients agree to notify Leocé immediately should any of the following occur:

  • significant weight loss;
  • significant weight gain;
  • pregnancy;
  • surgery;
  • medical treatment;
  • changes to posture or physical condition;
  • intensive fitness programmes; or
  • any other circumstance likely to affect the fit of the garment.

Failure to disclose such changes may affect the fit of the completed garment.

15.3 Additional Alterations

Where additional alterations become necessary due to changes in body measurements occurring after measurements have been taken, Leocé reserves the right to charge additional fitting and alteration fees.

Where significant body changes occur shortly before the event date, Leocé cannot guarantee that all requested alterations will be possible within the available timeframe.

15.4 Overseas Clients

Leocé proudly serves international clients.

Where measurements are obtained outside the Leocé atelier, clients are encouraged to use an experienced professional.

Virtual measuring consultations may be arranged where appropriate.

While every reasonable effort will be made to achieve an exceptional fit, Leocé cannot guarantee identical results where measurements have not been taken directly by the atelier.

15.5 Measurement Records

Leocé may retain client measurements for future commissions and alterations in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable South African data protection legislation.

Clients may request updated measurements at any time should body measurements change.

16. Fittings

Fittings form an essential part of the couture process and allow Leocé to refine every garment to achieve the highest possible standard of fit, balance and craftsmanship.

Each fitting represents an important stage in the evolution of the garment.

16.1 Number of Fittings

The number of fittings required varies according to the complexity of each commission.

As a general guideline:

  • Bespoke couture garments typically require multiple fittings.
  • Bespoke bridal couture gowns generally require a minimum of six (6) fittings.
  • Additional fittings may be recommended where necessary.

The final number of fittings shall remain at the professional discretion of Leocé.

16.2 Appointment Attendance

Clients agree to attend all scheduled fitting appointments on time.

Should a client be unable to attend, reasonable notice should be provided to allow the appointment to be rescheduled.

Repeated cancellations, missed appointments or late arrivals may affect production timelines and may result in additional fitting charges where appropriate.

16.3 What to Bring to Fittings

To ensure the most accurate fit possible, clients should bring, where applicable:

  • wedding shoes or event shoes;
  • the undergarments intended to be worn;
  • shapewear, if applicable;
  • accessories that may affect the fit or styling of the garment; and
  • any agreed additional items requested by Leocé.

Failure to do so may affect the accuracy of the fitting and may require additional appointments.

16.4 Fitting Refinements

Following each fitting, Leocé may make adjustments to improve:

  • fit;
  • balance;
  • proportion;
  • comfort;
  • movement;
  • structural support;
  • drape; and
  • overall presentation.

These refinements form part of the couture process and shall not be regarded as defects or production delays.

16.5 Final Fitting

The final fitting provides the client with an opportunity to inspect the completed garment before collection.

During the final fitting, clients are encouraged to carefully review:

  • fit;
  • comfort;
  • workmanship;
  • embellishments;
  • design;
  • proportions; and
  • overall appearance.

Minor refinements agreed upon during the final fitting will be completed where reasonably possible before collection.

16.6 Failure to Attend Final Fitting

Where a client elects not to attend the final fitting, or is unable to do so, the garment shall be completed using the latest approved measurements and fitting information available.

Leocé cannot accept responsibility for any minor fitting refinements that might otherwise have been identified during the final fitting appointment.

16.7 Virtual Fittings

Where clients are unable to attend in person, Leocé may, at its discretion, conduct fittings virtually.

Clients acknowledge that virtual fittings may limit the atelier’s ability to assess fit with the same precision as an in-person appointment, and additional alterations after delivery may be required.

Such alterations shall be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

17. Design Amendments

Leocé understands that ideas may evolve throughout the couture process. While every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate design amendments, the feasibility of any requested change depends upon the stage of production, the availability of materials and the overall production schedule.

17.1 Amendments Before Production

Prior to production commencing, clients may request amendments to the approved design.

Such amendments may include, but are not limited to:

  • silhouette adjustments;
  • neckline changes;
  • sleeve modifications;
  • train length;
  • fabric selections;
  • colour changes;
  • embellishment changes; and
  • styling refinements.

Where amendments are accepted, Leocé will advise the client of any revised pricing, additional labour, revised timelines or material costs before proceeding.

17.2 Amendments During Production

Once production has commenced, amendments become progressively more difficult and, in certain cases, impossible without compromising the quality or integrity of the garment.

Should Leocé agree to implement amendments after production has begun, additional charges may apply for:

  • redesign work;
  • pattern redevelopment;
  • replacement fabrics;
  • replacement lace or embellishments;
  • additional labour;
  • additional fittings;
  • revised production schedules; and
  • material wastage.

Leocé reserves the right to decline amendments that would compromise craftsmanship, structural integrity, production quality or agreed completion dates.

17.3 Material Wastage

Where design amendments result in materials already having been cut, embroidered, beaded or otherwise prepared becoming unusable, the client shall remain responsible for the cost of such materials together with any associated labour costs.

17.4 Written Confirmation

For the protection of both parties, all approved design amendments shall be confirmed in writing by Leocé before implementation.

Verbal discussions shall not constitute formal approval unless subsequently confirmed in writing.

18. Manufacturing & Production Timelines

Every Leocé garment is individually handcrafted. Production schedules are carefully managed to ensure that each commission receives the time, attention and craftsmanship it deserves.

Estimated completion dates are provided in good faith but remain estimates only.

18.1 Commencement of Production

Production will commence only after:

  • the quotation has been accepted;
  • the Client Agreement has been signed;
  • these Terms & Conditions have been accepted;
  • the required deposit has been received;
  • the design has been approved;
  • fabrics have been confirmed or ordered where applicable; and
  • Leocé has confirmed acceptance of the commission.

18.2 Estimated Timelines

Production timelines vary depending upon:

  • garment complexity;
  • hand embroidery;
  • beadwork;
  • imported materials;
  • supplier lead times;
  • seasonal demand;
  • fitting availability;
  • client response times; and
  • unforeseen circumstances.

Estimated completion dates should therefore not be interpreted as guaranteed completion dates.

18.3 Client Delays

Production schedules rely upon timely communication and cooperation from the client.

Delays resulting from:

  • missed fittings;
  • delayed approvals;
  • delayed measurements;
  • outstanding payments;
  • design amendments;
  • changes to wedding dates; or
  • failure to provide requested information,

may result in revised production schedules.

Leocé shall not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances within the client’s control.

18.4 Supplier Delays

Leocé works with trusted local and international suppliers.

Occasionally, supplier delays relating to imported fabrics, lace, embellishments or specialist materials may occur despite reasonable planning.

Where such delays arise, Leocé will communicate with the client as soon as reasonably practicable and discuss appropriate alternatives where available.

18.5 Quality Before Speed

Leocé will never compromise the quality or craftsmanship of a garment solely to meet an unrealistic deadline.

Where additional time is reasonably required to achieve the standard expected of a Leocé creation, every effort will be made to communicate this with the client at the earliest opportunity.

19. Rush Orders

Leocé recognises that certain commissions may require shorter production timelines.

Rush orders are accepted solely at the discretion of the maison and remain subject to atelier capacity, material availability and production scheduling.

Acceptance of a rush order shall never be assumed until confirmed in writing.

19.1 Rush Order Fees

Rush commissions may incur an additional priority production fee.

Such fees compensate for the additional resources, scheduling adjustments and overtime that may be required to complete the commission within the requested timeframe.

Rush order fees are quoted separately and are payable in addition to the standard garment price.

19.2 Client Cooperation

Clients requesting rush orders acknowledge that the success of an accelerated production schedule depends upon their prompt cooperation.

Clients agree to:

  • attend appointments when requested;
  • provide approvals without unnecessary delay;
  • make payments on time; and
  • remain available for communication throughout production.

Failure to do so may make completion within the requested timeframe impossible.

19.3 Limitations

While every reasonable effort will be made to complete accepted rush orders within the agreed timeframe, Leocé cannot be held responsible for delays resulting from:

  • supplier shortages;
  • courier interruptions;
  • import delays;
  • Force Majeure events;
  • client delays; or
  • circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the maison.

20. Collection of Garments

Collection represents the final stage of the couture journey.

Every completed garment undergoes quality inspection before collection or shipment.

Clients are encouraged to inspect their garment carefully during collection.

20.1 Final Payment

The outstanding balance, together with any agreed additional charges, must be paid in full before any garment will be released, collected or dispatched.

Ownership of the garment remains with Leocé until full payment has been received in cleared funds.

20.2 Inspection

Upon collection, clients are encouraged to inspect the garment thoroughly.

This includes confirming:

  • fit;
  • workmanship;
  • embellishments;
  • design;
  • colour;
  • construction;
  • accessories; and
  • overall presentation.

Any visible concerns should be brought to Leocé’s attention before the garment leaves the atelier.

20.3 Acceptance of the Garment

By collecting the garment, or authorising another person or courier to collect it on the client’s behalf, the client acknowledges that they have accepted the garment in its completed condition, subject always to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African consumer legislation.

20.4 Collection by Third Parties

Where a client authorises another individual or courier to collect a garment, such person shall be deemed to be acting on the client’s behalf.

Responsibility for the garment passes to the client upon collection by the authorised representative.

20.5 Uncollected Garments

Completed garments should be collected within thirty (30) calendar days of notification that they are ready for collection, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

Where garments remain uncollected beyond this period, Leocé reserves the right to charge reasonable storage fees to cover secure storage and garment preservation.

Should a garment remain uncollected for an extended period exceeding twelve (12) months, and after reasonable efforts have been made to contact the client, Leocé reserves the right to recover outstanding amounts and deal with the garment in accordance with applicable South African law.

20.6 Garment Care After Collection

Once the garment has been collected, responsibility for its care, storage, transportation and maintenance passes to the client.

Leocé recommends that all couture garments be transported in the protective garment bag provided and stored in accordance with the Garment Care Policy contained in this Agreement.

20.7 Collection Appointments

Collection appointments are scheduled to ensure that each client receives sufficient time to inspect their garment and discuss any final care instructions.

Clients are requested to arrive punctually for collection appointments.

Should a collection appointment need to be rescheduled, reasonable notice should be provided where possible.

Part IV – Ready-to-Wear & Made-to-Order Collections

21. Ready-to-Wear Policy

Leocé’s Ready-to-Wear Collection has been created for clients who wish to experience the craftsmanship, aesthetic and quality of the maison through garments available for immediate purchase.

Unlike Bespoke Couture, Ready-to-Wear garments are designed according to Leocé’s standard sizing and are produced in limited quantities. While these garments are not individually custom-made, every piece reflects the same commitment to quality, luxury and refined craftsmanship that defines the Leocé maison.

21.1 Product Availability

Ready-to-Wear garments are offered strictly subject to stock availability.

Certain designs may be produced as limited editions and, once sold out, may not be reproduced or restocked.

Leocé reserves the right to discontinue, modify or replace products without prior notice.

21.2 Sizing

Ready-to-Wear garments are manufactured according to Leocé’s standard sizing guide.

Clients are encouraged to carefully review the sizing information provided before placing an order.

Where assistance is required, Leocé will gladly provide sizing guidance prior to purchase.

Leocé cannot accept responsibility for incorrect size selection made by the client.

21.3 Product Representation

Every reasonable effort is made to ensure that product photography, descriptions and measurements accurately represent each garment.

Clients acknowledge that slight variations in colour, fabric texture and handcrafted finishing may occur and form part of the authentic luxury nature of the product.

21.4 Inspection Upon Delivery

Clients are encouraged to inspect their purchase immediately upon receipt.

Should any manufacturing defect or incorrect item be identified, Leocé should be notified as soon as reasonably possible to allow the matter to be investigated and resolved.

21.5 Returns & Exchanges

Subject to applicable South African consumer legislation, Ready-to-Wear garments may be eligible for return or exchange provided that:

  • the garment has not been worn;
  • the garment has not been altered;
  • all original swing tags remain attached;
  • original packaging is returned where reasonably possible;
  • the garment is returned in its original condition; and
  • the return request is made within the period communicated by Leocé or otherwise required by applicable law.

Returned garments must not show evidence of:

  • perfume or fragrance;
  • deodorant marks;
  • makeup or cosmetic stains;
  • smoke or strong odours;
  • pet hair;
  • laundering;
  • dry cleaning;
  • damage;
  • excessive handling; or
  • any use beyond what would reasonably occur during a boutique fitting.

Leocé reserves the right to inspect all returned garments before approving any exchange or refund.

Nothing contained in this clause limits any rights that clients may have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other mandatory applicable legislation.

21.6 Sale Items

Unless otherwise required by law, garments purchased during promotional sales, warehouse sales, clearance events or marked as final sale may not be eligible for exchange or refund where clearly disclosed at the time of purchase.

21.7 Alterations

Any alterations performed by Leocé or an independent third party after purchase are undertaken at the client’s risk.

Once a Ready-to-Wear garment has been altered, exchanged components, resized or otherwise modified, it shall no longer qualify for return or exchange except where required by law.

21.8 Ownership

Ownership of all Ready-to-Wear garments remains vested in Leocé until payment has been received in full and cleared.

22. Made-to-Order Policy

Leocé’s Made-to-Order Collection bridges the space between Ready-to-Wear and Bespoke Couture.

Made-to-Order garments are produced specifically for an individual client using an existing Leocé design. While clients may select available sizes, colours or approved fabric options where offered, these garments are not individually designed or patterned and therefore do not constitute Bespoke Couture.

Every Made-to-Order garment is individually manufactured after an order has been confirmed and is produced exclusively for the purchasing client.

22.1 Production

Manufacturing will commence only after:

  • the order has been confirmed;
  • full or deposit payment has been received, as applicable;
  • required design selections have been confirmed; and
  • Leocé has accepted the commission.

Production timelines are estimates only and may vary depending on seasonal demand, supplier availability and atelier capacity.

22.2 Design Integrity

Made-to-Order garments are produced according to approved Leocé designs.

Clients may only request modifications that are specifically offered by Leocé as part of the Made-to-Order programme.

Requests for substantial design changes may require the commission to be treated as a Bespoke Couture garment, resulting in revised pricing and production terms.

22.3 Fabric & Colour Selection

Where multiple fabric or colour options are offered, clients are responsible for confirming their final selections before production commences.

Once production has begun, changes to approved selections may no longer be possible.

Where changes remain reasonably achievable, additional charges and revised production timelines may apply.

22.4 Cancellation

Because every Made-to-Order garment is manufactured specifically for an individual client, orders generally cannot be cancelled once production has commenced.

Where cancellation is requested before production begins, Leocé will assess the request on a case-by-case basis.

Deposits already applied to design preparation, administration, material procurement or production planning may remain non-refundable to the extent permitted by applicable law.

22.5 Returns

Made-to-Order garments are manufactured specifically for the client and are therefore generally not eligible for return or exchange solely because:

  • the client changes their mind;
  • the event has been cancelled;
  • the garment is no longer required;
  • the client selected the incorrect size after confirming measurements or sizing; or
  • personal preference has changed after production.

This clause does not affect any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.

22.6 Minor Variations

Clients acknowledge that slight variations in:

  • colour;
  • fabric texture;
  • embroidery;
  • lace placement;
  • beadwork;
  • handcrafted finishing; and
  • other artisanal details

may naturally occur during production and do not constitute manufacturing defects.

22.7 Quality Assurance

Every Made-to-Order garment undergoes quality inspection before collection or shipment.

Leocé is committed to ensuring that every garment meets the maison’s standards of craftsmanship before it leaves the atelier.

22.8 Collection & Delivery

The provisions relating to shipping, collection, inspection, ownership, risk and delivery contained elsewhere in this Agreement apply equally to all Made-to-Order garments.

Clients are encouraged to inspect their garment promptly upon receipt and to notify Leocé without unreasonable delay should they believe a manufacturing defect exists.

22.9 Limited Edition Collections

From time to time, Leocé may release limited edition Made-to-Order collections.

These collections may be produced in restricted quantities or for limited periods only.

Leocé reserves the right to discontinue any collection, fabric, colourway or design without prior notice once production limits have been reached or the collection has concluded.

23. Home Collection

The Leocé Home Collection has been created as an extension of the maison’s philosophy of timeless elegance, refined living and exceptional craftsmanship.

Inspired by the same principles that define every Leocé couture garment, the Home Collection offers a carefully curated selection of luxury lifestyle products designed to bring sophistication, comfort and understated luxury into the home.

Products within the Home Collection may include, but are not limited to:

  • Luxury candles
  • Reed diffusers
  • Room sprays
  • Hand wash
  • Hand lotion
  • Home fragrances
  • Decorative accessories
  • Limited edition lifestyle products
  • Seasonal collections
  • Other home products introduced by Leocé from time to time

Every Home Collection product is selected or produced with the same commitment to quality that defines the Leocé maison.

23.1 Product Availability

All Home Collection products are offered subject to availability.

Certain fragrances, vessels, packaging, colours or seasonal collections may be available only for limited periods.

Leocé reserves the right to discontinue, replace or update any Home Collection product without prior notice.

23.2 Product Representation

Every reasonable effort is made to ensure that product descriptions, photography and fragrance descriptions accurately represent each product.

Clients acknowledge that:

  • colours may differ slightly between digital displays and physical products;
  • natural materials may display subtle variations;
  • fragrance perception is subjective and differs between individuals; and
  • handcrafted products may exhibit slight variations that contribute to their individuality.

Such variations shall not constitute manufacturing defects.

23.3 Natural Variations

Where Home Collection products incorporate natural materials including wood, stone, glass, ceramics, waxes, botanical ingredients or natural fibres, slight variations in colour, texture, grain, finish or appearance should be expected.

These characteristics are inherent to premium natural materials and contribute to the uniqueness of each product.

23.4 Product Care

Clients agree to use all Home Collection products in accordance with the care instructions supplied by Leocé.

Candles should never be left burning unattended.

Diffusers should be kept away from children, pets and direct sunlight.

Room sprays, fragrances and other products should be used only for their intended purpose.

Leocé accepts no responsibility for damage arising from improper use, misuse or failure to follow the recommended care instructions.

23.5 Fragrances

Fragrance performance is influenced by a variety of factors, including room size, ventilation, humidity, temperature and individual perception.

Leocé does not guarantee identical fragrance performance or longevity in every environment.

Fragrance descriptions are provided for guidance only and remain subjective.

23.6 Returns

For hygiene and quality assurance reasons, opened, used or damaged Home Collection products are generally not eligible for return or exchange unless required under applicable South African consumer legislation.

Where a manufacturing defect exists, clients should notify Leocé as soon as reasonably possible after receipt to allow the matter to be assessed.

23.7 Damaged Products

Should a Home Collection product arrive damaged during transit, clients should notify Leocé promptly and, where possible, provide photographs of:

  • the external packaging;
  • the internal packaging;
  • the damaged product; and
  • the shipping label.

This assists Leocé in investigating the matter with the courier and determining an appropriate resolution.

23.8 Limited Edition Collections

Leocé may from time to time introduce seasonal fragrances, limited edition vessels, collaborative collections or exclusive lifestyle products.

Such products may not be reproduced once sold out and remain available only while stocks last.

24. Accessories

Leocé may offer a curated selection of accessories designed to complement the maison’s couture collections and lifestyle offerings.

Accessories may include, but are not limited to:

  • Veils
  • Belts
  • Gloves
  • Hair accessories
  • Jewellery
  • Scarves
  • Bags
  • Packaging accessories
  • Lifestyle accessories
  • Other complementary products introduced by Leocé from time to time.

24.1 Product Availability

Accessory collections are produced in limited quantities and remain subject to availability.

Leocé reserves the right to discontinue, replace or modify accessory collections without prior notice.

24.2 Product Representation

Every reasonable effort is made to accurately represent the appearance of accessories through photography and product descriptions.

Minor variations in handcrafted finishes, natural materials, colours and embellishments may occur and are considered characteristics of authentic luxury craftsmanship.

24.3 Care of Accessories

Clients are responsible for caring for accessories in accordance with any care instructions provided by Leocé.

Improper storage, misuse, accidental damage, exposure to moisture, excessive heat, chemicals or perfumes may affect the longevity of certain products.

Leocé cannot accept responsibility for deterioration resulting from improper care after collection or delivery.

24.4 Returns

Accessories may be eligible for return or exchange in accordance with the Returns & Refund Policy contained within this Agreement and subject to applicable South African consumer legislation.

For hygiene reasons, certain products—including earrings, hair accessories, cosmetic accessories and any other items identified by Leocé—may not be eligible for return where this has been clearly disclosed at the time of purchase and where permitted by law.

Returned accessories must be:

  • unused;
  • undamaged;
  • returned in their original packaging where reasonably possible;
  • accompanied by all original tags and components; and
  • free from any signs of wear.

24.5 Matching Collections

Where accessories are purchased to accompany bespoke or bridal garments, Leocé will make every reasonable effort to ensure aesthetic consistency.

However, slight variations in dye lots, handcrafted embellishments, natural materials or production batches may occur and shall not constitute manufacturing defects.

24.6 Limited Edition Accessories

Certain accessories may be released as limited editions or exclusive collections.

Availability cannot be guaranteed beyond the advertised release period, and Leocé reserves the right not to reproduce discontinued designs.

24.7 Ownership

Ownership of all Home Collection products and accessories shall remain vested in Leocé until full payment has been received in cleared funds.

Risk in the products passes to the client upon lawful collection or delivery in accordance with the Shipping Policy contained within this Agreement.

Part V – Pricing & Payments

25. Pricing

Leocé is committed to providing transparent and accurate pricing for all products and services. Due to the bespoke nature of many of our creations, pricing may vary depending on the complexity of the design, selected materials, craftsmanship required and individual client requirements.

All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise agreed in writing.

International quotations may be provided in alternative currencies for the convenience of the client. Such quotations are indicative only and remain subject to exchange rate fluctuations until payment has been received.

25.1 Price Adjustments

Leocé reserves the right to amend pricing without prior notice where necessary due to:

  • increases in supplier pricing;
  • fluctuations in exchange rates;
  • increases in import duties or taxes;
  • material shortages;
  • changes in labour requirements;
  • revised project scope; or
  • circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the maison.

Price adjustments shall not affect quotations already accepted by the client unless the scope of work has changed.

25.2 Taxes

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • all applicable taxes;
  • Value Added Tax (VAT), where applicable;
  • customs duties;
  • import taxes;
  • brokerage fees;
  • local taxes; and
  • any governmental charges,

remain payable in accordance with applicable legislation.

International clients remain responsible for any duties, taxes or import charges imposed within their country.

25.3 Currency

Payments are ordinarily processed in South African Rand (ZAR).

Where payment is made in another currency, the final amount received by Leocé shall be determined by the exchange rate, banking fees and payment provider charges applicable on the date of processing.

Any shortfall resulting from exchange rate movements or banking deductions shall remain payable by the client.

26. Quotations

Every bespoke or made-to-order commission is preceded by a written quotation.

Quotations are prepared based on the information available at the time of issue and reflect the agreed scope of work.

26.1 Validity

Unless otherwise stated in writing, all quotations remain valid for ten (10) Business Days from the date of issue.

After this period, Leocé reserves the right to issue a revised quotation.

26.2 Acceptance

A quotation shall only be regarded as accepted once:

  • the client has confirmed acceptance in writing;
  • the Client Agreement has been signed where applicable;
  • the required deposit has been received; and
  • Leocé has confirmed acceptance of the commission.

26.3 Revised Quotations

Where the client requests design changes, additional garments, upgraded fabrics or additional services after a quotation has been issued, Leocé reserves the right to prepare a revised quotation.

Production will proceed only after the revised quotation has been accepted where applicable.

27. Deposits

Bespoke couture and made-to-order commissions require a deposit before production commences.

The deposit secures production capacity, allows materials to be procured and enables Leocé to allocate atelier resources to the commission.

27.1 Deposit Requirement

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required before production commences.

No production shall begin before the required deposit has been received in cleared funds.

27.2 Nature of the Deposit

The deposit contributes towards:

  • design development;
  • production planning;
  • procurement of fabrics;
  • procurement of trims and embellishments;
  • pattern development;
  • administration;
  • supplier commitments; and
  • commencement of production.

For this reason, deposits are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable South African law.

27.3 Cancellation After Deposit

Where a client cancels a commission after production has commenced, Leocé reserves the right to retain the deposit and recover any additional costs already incurred, including but not limited to:

  • ordered fabrics;
  • lace;
  • embellishments;
  • specialist materials;
  • labour already performed;
  • design work;
  • pattern development; and
  • supplier cancellation charges,

subject always to applicable South African consumer legislation.

28. Payment Methods

Leocé accepts payment through approved payment methods, which may include:

  • Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)

30.1 Risk

Risk in the goods passes to the client upon lawful collection by the client, an authorised representative or upon delivery to the nominated courier in accordance with the Shipping Policy contained within this Agreement.

Where applicable, couture garments will be supplied in protective garment bags and luxury packaging designed to assist with safe transportation.

Leocé continually strives to balance luxury presentation with environmentally responsible packaging practices where reasonably possible.

31.3 Delivery Addresses

Clients are responsible for ensuring that all delivery information supplied is complete and accurate.

This includes:

  • full recipient name;
  • delivery address;
  • postal code;
  • country;
  • contact telephone number; and
  • email address.

Leocé accepts no responsibility for delays, failed deliveries or additional courier charges arising from incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by the client.

31.4 Courier Partners

Leocé reserves the right to select the courier service most appropriate for each shipment.

Courier providers may change from time to time without notice.

Tracking information will generally be supplied once an order has been dispatched where available.

31.5 Delivery Attempts

Where a courier is unable to complete delivery due to the absence of the recipient or other circumstances beyond Leocé’s control, additional delivery attempts or collection from a courier depot may be required.

Any additional charges imposed by the courier under these circumstances may remain the responsibility of the client.

32. International Shipping

Leocé proudly serves clients around the world.

International shipping is available to most destinations, subject to courier availability, customs regulations and local import requirements.

Certain destinations may not be serviced due to legal restrictions, courier limitations or geopolitical circumstances.

Leocé reserves the right to decline shipments to destinations where delivery cannot reasonably be completed.

32.1 Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated according to:

  • destination;
  • parcel dimensions;
  • parcel weight;
  • courier rates;
  • insurance requirements; and
  • any special handling required.

Where promotional shipping offers are available, the applicable terms will be communicated at the time of purchase.

32.2 Export Documentation

Leocé will prepare the documentation reasonably required for export.

Clients remain responsible for ensuring that imported products comply with the laws and regulations applicable within their country.

32.3 Customs Clearance

International shipments may be inspected by customs authorities.

Customs inspections are outside the control of Leocé.

Leocé cannot guarantee customs processing times and accepts no responsibility for delays resulting from customs inspections or governmental procedures.

33. Customs Duties & Import Taxes

International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage charges, inspection fees or other governmental charges imposed by the destination country.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, these charges remain entirely the responsibility of the client.

Leocé has no control over such charges and cannot estimate their value.

Failure by the client to pay applicable import duties or taxes may result in:

  • delayed delivery;
  • return of the shipment;
  • storage charges;
  • customs penalties; or
  • destruction of the shipment by local authorities.

Leocé shall not be responsible for any losses arising from such circumstances.

Where a shipment is returned to Leocé because customs duties or import taxes have not been paid, any return shipping costs, customs charges or administrative expenses incurred may be deducted from any refund where permitted by law.

34. Delivery Timeframes

Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but remain estimates only.

Actual delivery times may vary depending upon:

  • destination;
  • courier schedules;
  • customs processing;
  • weather conditions;
  • public holidays;
  • seasonal demand;
  • political events;
  • transport disruptions; and

34.2 Partial Shipments

Where appropriate, Leocé reserves the right to dispatch products in separate shipments.

Clients will be informed where practical.

34.3 Inspection Upon Delivery

Clients are encouraged to inspect all shipments immediately upon receipt.

Where visible damage to the external packaging is apparent, clients should:

  • note the damage with the courier where possible;
  • photograph the parcel before opening;
  • photograph the contents after opening; and
  • notify Leocé as soon as reasonably possible.

Prompt notification assists Leocé in investigating shipping-related claims.

35. Risk & Ownership During Delivery

Ownership of all goods remains with Leocé until full payment has been received in cleared funds.

Risk in the goods passes to the client once the shipment has been:

  • collected by the client;
  • collected by the client’s authorised representative; or
  • accepted by the nominated courier for delivery to the address provided by the client,

unless otherwise required by applicable law.

35.1 Shipment Insurance

Where shipment insurance is included or specifically requested, claims relating to loss or damage shall be managed in accordance with the insurer’s terms and conditions.

Clients agree to provide all information reasonably required to assist with any insurance claim.

35.2 Lost Shipments

Should a shipment appear to be lost in transit, Leocé will work with the appointed courier to investigate the matter.

Clients acknowledge that courier investigations may require time to complete.

Replacement or refund decisions will be considered after the courier’s investigation has concluded and in accordance with applicable legislation and any applicable insurance provisions.

35.3 Damaged Shipments

Where products are damaged during transportation, clients should notify Leocé as soon as reasonably possible and provide:

  • photographs of the packaging;
  • photographs of the damaged product;
  • courier documentation where available; and
  • any additional information reasonably requested.

Failure to report damage within a reasonable period may affect Leocé’s ability to pursue claims against the courier or insurer.

35.4 Refused Deliveries

Where a client refuses delivery of a shipment without lawful justification, the client may remain responsible for:

  • return shipping costs;
  • customs charges;
  • storage fees;
  • administrative costs; and
  • any reduction in value resulting from the return of the goods,

to the extent permitted by applicable law.

35.5 Returned Shipments

Where a shipment is returned to Leocé due to:

  • an incorrect delivery address;
  • failure to collect the shipment;
  • refusal to accept delivery;
  • non-payment of customs duties; or
  • other circumstances attributable to the client,

Leocé reserves the right to charge the client for any additional shipping, handling, storage or administrative costs incurred before the shipment is re-dispatched.

35.6 Signature Upon Delivery

Where the courier requires a signature upon delivery, a signature obtained at the delivery address shall constitute proof that delivery has been completed, unless proven otherwise.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that authorised persons at the delivery address are available to accept delivery.

Part VII – Returns, Alterations, Warranty & Garment Care

36. Returns & Refunds

Leocé is committed to delivering products of exceptional quality and craftsmanship. We take great pride in every garment and product that leaves our atelier.

Because Leocé offers a combination of Bespoke Couture, Bridal Couture, Made-to-Order garments, Ready-to-Wear collections and Home Collection products, different return policies apply to different product categories.

Nothing contained within this policy limits any rights afforded to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act or any other mandatory applicable legislation.

36.1 Bespoke Couture

Every bespoke garment is individually created specifically for one client using their unique measurements, approved design and selected materials.

Accordingly, bespoke garments are generally not eligible for return, exchange or refund solely because:

  • the client changes their mind;
  • personal preference changes;
  • the event is cancelled or postponed;
  • the garment is no longer required;
  • body measurements change after approval;
  • the client decides to pursue a different design.

Upon collection and final approval, the garment shall be regarded as accepted by the client, subject always to any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable South African law.

36.2 Bridal Couture

Bridal gowns are individually handcrafted for a specific bride and wedding date.

Once the gown has been approved and collected, returns or refunds will generally not be accepted solely because:

  • the wedding has been postponed;
  • the wedding has been cancelled;
  • personal preferences have changed;
  • another gown has been purchased; or
  • body measurements have changed after collection.

36.3 Made-to-Order

Made-to-Order garments are produced specifically for an individual client.

For this reason, they are generally not eligible for cancellation, exchange or refund once production has commenced, except where required by applicable legislation.

36.4 Ready-to-Wear

Ready-to-Wear garments may qualify for return or exchange provided that:

  • the garment has not been worn;
  • no alterations have been performed;
  • swing tags remain attached;
  • the garment is returned in its original condition;
  • the return request complies with Leocé’s published return procedure; and
  • there are no signs of use beyond what would reasonably occur during a boutique fitting.

Leocé reserves the right to inspect every returned garment before approving any refund or exchange.

36.5 Home Collection & Accessories

For hygiene, quality assurance and product integrity reasons, opened or used Home Collection products, fragrances and certain accessories may not be eligible for return except where required by law.

36.6 Manufacturing Defects

Should a client believe that a product contains a manufacturing defect, Leocé should be notified as soon as reasonably possible.

Where appropriate, Leocé reserves the right to:

  • inspect the product;
  • repair the product;
  • replace the product; or
  • provide another appropriate remedy,

in accordance with applicable South African consumer legislation.

36.7 Non-Returnable Circumstances

Unless required by law, returns shall generally not be accepted where products have been:

  • worn;
  • altered;
  • damaged after collection;
  • incorrectly stored;
  • improperly cleaned;
  • exposed to perfume, smoke or chemicals;
  • damaged through misuse; or
  • modified by any third party.

37. Alterations

Every Leocé garment is produced to achieve the highest possible standard of fit and craftsmanship.

Alterations form an important part of the couture process.

37.1 Included Alterations

For Bespoke Couture and Bridal Couture commissions, minor fitting refinements identified during scheduled fittings are generally included within the agreed commission, provided they fall within the original design scope.

37.2 Additional Alterations

Additional alterations requested after completion or collection may incur additional charges.

Such alterations include, but are not limited to:

  • resizing;
  • hem adjustments;
  • sleeve alterations;
  • neckline modifications;
  • additional embellishments;
  • structural changes; and
  • redesign requests.

37.3 Body Changes

Where alterations become necessary because of:

  • weight changes;
  • pregnancy;
  • surgery;
  • medical treatment;
  • fitness programmes; or
  • other body changes,

additional charges may apply.

37.4 Third-Party Alterations

Any alteration performed by a person or business other than Leocé shall immediately void any workmanship warranty relating to the affected areas of the garment.

Leocé cannot accept responsibility for defects, fit issues or damage resulting from alterations performed by third parties.

37.5 Alteration Timeframes

Alterations remain subject to atelier capacity and production schedules.

Clients are encouraged to request alterations well in advance of their event.

Urgent alteration requests may attract additional charges.

38. Warranty

Leocé warrants that every product leaving the atelier has undergone quality inspection and has been produced in accordance with the maison’s standards of craftsmanship.

38.1 Manufacturing Faults

This warranty applies only to genuine manufacturing defects present at the time the product leaves the Leocé atelier.

38.2 Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear;
  • accidental damage;
  • snagging;
  • torn fabrics;
  • missing beads resulting from wear;
  • damage caused by improper storage;
  • improper cleaning;
  • exposure to chemicals;
  • alterations by third parties;
  • misuse;
  • neglect; or
  • damage occurring after collection or delivery.

38.3 Assessment

Where a warranty claim is submitted, Leocé reserves the right to inspect the product before determining the appropriate remedy.

38.4 Remedies

Where a genuine manufacturing defect is confirmed, Leocé may, at its discretion and subject to applicable law:

  • repair the product;
  • replace the product;
  • provide store credit; or
  • provide another appropriate remedy.

39. Garment Care

Every Leocé creation is crafted using premium materials and couture techniques that require careful handling.

Proper care contributes significantly to the longevity and beauty of every garment.

39.1 Cleaning

Unless otherwise indicated in writing, Leocé garments should be professionally dry cleaned only by a specialist experienced in luxury couture garments.

Clients should never machine wash, tumble dry or bleach couture garments unless expressly instructed otherwise.

39.2 Storage

Garments should be:

  • stored in breathable garment bags;
  • kept away from direct sunlight;
  • protected from moisture;
  • stored in a cool, dry environment;
  • handled carefully to avoid unnecessary strain on embellishments.

39.3 Transportation

When travelling, clients should transport garments using appropriate protective covers and avoid folding couture garments wherever reasonably possible.

39.4 Beading & Embellishments

Hand-applied beadwork, lace and embellishments are delicate by nature.

Minor bead loss over time may occur through normal wear and does not necessarily indicate a manufacturing defect.

Clients are encouraged to handle embellished garments with particular care.

39.5 Steam Pressing

Where appropriate, garments should be lightly steamed rather than pressed directly with an iron.

Improper pressing may permanently damage delicate fabrics, embellishments and couture construction.

39.6 Long-Term Care

Leocé recommends that couture garments be professionally inspected before significant future occasions to ensure that they remain in excellent condition.

Should maintenance or restoration be required, clients are encouraged to consult Leocé before instructing any third party.

43. Custom Design Ownership

Every bespoke design developed by Leocé remains an original artistic creation of the maison.

While the completed garment becomes the property of the client upon full payment, ownership of the underlying intellectual property remains vested in Leocé.

This includes:

  • original concepts;
  • sketches;
  • technical drawings;
  • patterns;
  • pattern blocks;
  • construction methods;
  • draping techniques;
  • grading;
  • embellishment layouts;
  • artwork;
  • design development; and
  • other creative processes.

Clients obtain ownership of the physical garment only.

Clients do not acquire the right to reproduce, manufacture, commercialise or authorise the reproduction of Leocé designs.

Leocé reserves the right to incorporate elements of its own original design language into future collections, provided that no bespoke commission is intentionally reproduced in its entirety.

43.1 Inspiration Images

Where clients provide inspiration photographs, sketches or reference material, such material shall remain the property of its respective owner.

Leocé’s interpretation, redesign and original development arising from that inspiration remain the intellectual property of Leocé.
